Hail Fellow and Well Met! This is my Original Dungeons & Dragons blog named for my main campaign The Ruins of Murkhill™. I have been playing and refereeing OD&D since Sept. of 1975. I am apt to talk about almost anything game related here. Heh. No mention of T&T, I can hear Ken St. Andre raging from here.
ReplyDeleteOf course, also no mention of Empire of the Petal Throne or Metamorphosis Alpha. Tsk.
Thomas who is running the con has a reply for you, he says:
Delete"Tell your blog friend, yes, Tunnels and Trolls gets short shrift. I would love a game master to run it. I went to the Flying Buffalo table at DunDraCon and bought three T&T products."
You'll need to talk to Thomas about that, you can find him here https://mewe.com/join/blackmoor one of the places he hangs out.
ReplyDeleteNah, Fresno's the wrong side of the continent for me anyway so it's a moot point. Funny, though. Suppose they were thinking of the games they used to play rather than just the earliest ones, which is what St. Andre always gets bent about.
DeleteSpelled Traveller wrong though. Two els when it's the RPG, which cost me dearly back when I was a kid, constantly spelling the not-RPG word wrong on papers and tests. Curse you, GDW!
Have to agree about pig-faces being the One True Ork, though. Accept no sad Hollywood film versions or those silly green apes from Games Workshop. :)
The flyer asks what games you would like to play or ref, so I assume if you show up to ref Traveller or T&T or EPT or MA you would find players. I think he just mentioned the ones he has played himself, but is open to other games. As for orcs/orks when I first read the The Hobbit and the LotR back in grade school, I never pictured them with pig faces and I still don't. heh!
